Mom's BBQ Baked Beans
- 1 lb Bacon
- 1 medium Onion
- 4 clove Garlic
- 1 medium Green pepper
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar
- 1 12 oz bottle of BBQ sauce
- 4 can 14-15 oz cans of Pork and beans rinsed
- 1 salt & pepper to taste
- Pre-heat oven to 375.
- Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces.
- Brown bacon in a non stick skillet over med.
- high heat.
- Chop onion, garlic and green pepper.
- Before bacon is completely browned turn down head to med.
- and add onion and green pepper.
- Saute until they start to soften and add garlic.
- Continue to saute for 45 seconds.
- Stir in brown sugar to absorb some of bacon grease.
- (you my want to drain off some of the bacon grease depending on how fatty your bacon is.)
- Pour in BBQ sauce and let simmer for about 2 min.
- Stir in rinsed beans and transfer to a casserole dish.
- Cover and bake 45-60 minutes.
