Crusty Cornbread
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 cup skim milk
- 13 cup cooking oil
- Preheat oven to 450.
- Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.
- Stir in corn meal.
- Combine egg, milk, and oil.
- Add to dry ingredients.
- Pour in greased 8 or 9 inch square pan.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
- Let cool 5 minutes before cutting into 2 inch squares.
