Black Forest Pie
- 1 each pie shell (9 inch) baked
- 4 ounces chocolate unsweetened
- 14 ounces milk, sweetened condensed
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream whipped
- 21 ounces cherry pie filling
- 1 x almonds toasted, optional
- In a heavy saucepan, over medium-low heat, melt chocolate with sweetened condensed milk.
- Remove from heat; stir in extract.
- Pour into large bowl; cool or chill thouroghly.
- Beat until smooth.
- Fold in whipped cream.
- Pour into prepared pastry shell.
- Chill 4 hours or until set.
- Serve with pie filling.
- Garnish with almonds if desired.
- Refrigerate leftovers.
