Soft & Steaming Yam Steaks
- 1/2 Nagaimo yam
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 Salt and pepper
- 1 Soy sauce or garlic soy sauce
- 1 Bonito flakes
- Peel the yam and cut into 1.5 cm slices.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and pan-fry the yams until browned on both sides.
- Lower the heat to low and add in the sake.
- Cover with a lid and steam for 5 minutes.
- Once a skewer can be inserted through them easily, drizzle in the soy sauce in a circular motion.
- Serve up and garnish with bonito flakes.
