Soft & Steaming Yam Steaks

  1. Peel the yam and cut into 1.5 cm slices.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan and pan-fry the yams until browned on both sides.
  4. Lower the heat to low and add in the sake.
  5. Cover with a lid and steam for 5 minutes.
  6. Once a skewer can be inserted through them easily, drizzle in the soy sauce in a circular motion.
  7. Serve up and garnish with bonito flakes.
