Wild Bird Treat Mix in a Quart Jar

  1. layer ingredients in order given, cornmeal first, in a 1 quart wide mouth jar pressing each layer very firmly before adding next layer.
  2. decorate jar and attach a recipe card with the following instructions --
  3. WILDBIRD TREATS.
  4. Empty all ingredients from jar into a large bowl -- mix.
  5. add: 3/4 cup peanut butter, smooth or crunchy -- and 1 cup water.
  6. mix very well -- add more water if necessary to make a stiff dough.
  7. spread in a 9x13" baking pan --
  8. Use knife to cut bars into 2x4" bars.
  9. Leave bars in place.
  10. bake at 250* for 45 minutes.
  11. leave in pan to cool --
  12. cut into bars along cut lines.
  13. feed wild birds one bar at a time.
  14. keep remaining bars refrigerated until needed.
