Cranberry Applesauce
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 6 sweet-tart (unpeeled) apples, such as Braeburn, Fuji, or McIntosh, cored and cut into chunks
- 23 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sweet cider
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
- Combine all ingredients in large saucepan, and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Partially cover, and simmer 25 to 30 minutes, or until fruit is soft, stirring occasionally.
- Turn off heat, and cool.
- Transfer to food processor, and pulse until smooth.
- Chill 3 hours before serving.
