- 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
- 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon of American yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon of celery seeds
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup of minced onion
- 16 slices of baked ham; approximately 1/2 pound or to taste
- 8 slices of American cheesse
- 8 sturdy hamburger/sandwich buns
- Heat oven to 400 degrees or an outdoor grill to 350 degrees.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, mayonnaise, mustard, celery seed, Worcestershire and onion.
- Spread the mixture on the cut sides of the buns.
- Place a slice of cheese on top cut side.
- Place the ham on the bottom cut side.
- Bring the sandwich together and wrap twice in sheets of foil.
- Bake on the oven rack for 15 minutes.
- If using an outdoor grill, bake for 15 mintues, rotating halfway through or until the sandwiches are hot and toasted.
- If starting with frozen sandwiches, bake for 30 minutes.
- Serve wrapped in foil.
