Flora's Meatball Subs

  1. In a dutch oven combine the marinara sauce, tomatoes, red pepper flake, garlic powder, basil, and oregano.
  2. Simmer this over low heat for 20 min.
  3. While sauce is simmering in a large bowl combine beef, sausage, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, and onion.
  4. Mix this thoroughly.
  5. Form into small meatballs.
  6. Brown the meatballs on both side in a skillet coated with a small amount of oil
  7. Place the cooked meatballs into the marinara sauce.
  8. Cut your french bread lengthwise and place on a baking pan.
  9. In a bowl mix the butter and garlic powder
  10. Brush the garlic butter on the rolls.
  11. Place in a 425 degrees oven until browned
  12. When browned add the meatballs and some of the sauce on the bottom portion and top with some of the cheese and place under broiler until melted.
  13. Take out and place top on sammie and enjoy!
