Pasta with Calamari
- 1 large Tomato
- 1 to 2 Calamari (squid)
- 250 grams Pasta
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Black pepper or regular pepper
- 1 Basil (fresh or dried)
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 boil in a pot Hot water (salted)
- While the water for the pasta is boiling, cut the calamari into edible sizes.
- Remove but do not throw out the guts.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and saute the garlic.
- Add tomato and dried basil, and continue to saute.
- Add the calamari guts when the tomato starts to break apart.
- When the pasta is just about finished, add the calamari into the pan.
- Add freshly cooked pasta into the pan and saute lightly as you toss with the sauce.
- Add fresh basil to finish.
- You can omit the fresh basil if you want.
