Donnetta's Stuffed Italian Shells
- 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb sausage
- 1 small onion chopped fine
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 tbsp garlic pepper
- 18 each large pasta shells
- 2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 cup good marinara sauce
- Brown ground beef and sausage until done.
- Drain if it has an excess of grease.
- While the meat is cooking, boil the shells in salted water with a little olive oil.
- Cook until al dents, drain and rinse in cold water and set aside.
- To assemble in a 9x13 pan.
- Spray pan lightly with cooking spray.
- Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of the pan.
- Fill each shell with meat full but not bulging.
- Place the filled shells in the pan.
- Top filled shells with remaining sauce.
- (Use a little more if you like.)
- Sprinkle mozzarella on top of sauce.
- Bake at 350 for 30 to 45 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted.
