Instant Shepherd's Pie

  1. Empty the meat into a saucepan and bring it gently to the boil, stirring well.
  2. Add your chosen sauces and garlic powder and herbs.
  3. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until really hot.
  4. Make up the instant mashed potato as directed on the packet using the butter and hot water and add most of the grated cheese (saving a little for the top).
  5. Pour the meat into an ovenproof dish, top with the mashed potato, and sprinkle with the remainder of the cheese and/or sliced tomato if used.
  6. Dot with a little butter or margarine.
  7. Cook under a hot grill, until golden brown (2-3 minutes).
