Tostada Pizza
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 can 4 oz diced green chile peppers, drained
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning mix
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cornmeal
- 1 packages 13.8 oz refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 can 15 oz can pinto beans with jalapeno peppers, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or montery jack cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
- 1 taco sauce (optional)
- In a large skillet cook ground beef until brown.
- Drain off fat.
- Stir in the water, chile peppers, taco seasoning mix, and chili powder.
- Bring to boiling and reduce heat.
- Simmer, uncovered, 15 to 20 mins or until most of the liquid is evaporated.
- Preheat oven to 400
- Grease baking sheet and sprinkle with cornmeal.
- Press pizza dough into 12x18 inch rectangle on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 5 mins
- In a small bowl, mash beans with fork.
- Spread beans over crust to within 1/2 inch of edges.
- Spoon meat mixture over beans.
- Bake about 10 mins or just until crust is golden.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake for 1 to 2 mins or until cheese is melted
- Top with lettuce, tomato and green onions.
- If desired, serve with taco sauce
