Herb Sour Cream Bread Recipe
- 1/2 c. hot (105 to 115 degrees) water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. hot lowfat sour cream
- 6 tbsp. butter
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon marjoram leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
- 2 Large eggs
- 3 3/4 to 4 3/4 c. flour
- Put hot water into a large hot bowl.
- Sprinkle in yeast, stir till dissolved.
- Add in lowfat sour cream, butter, sugar, salt, spices and Large eggs.
- Beat in 3 c. flour till well blended, about 1 minute.
- Stir in sufficient flour to make a soft dough.
- Cover, let rise till doubled, about 50 min.
- Stir down.
- Turn into 2 greased 1-qt casseroles.
- Cover, let rise in hot place till doubled, about 50 min.
- Bake at 375 degrees about 35 min.
- Remove from pans and cold on racks.
- Makes 2 loaves.
