For Bentos: Easy Microwave Tamagoyaki (Rolled Omelette)

  1. Put the sugar and dashi stock granules into a deep plate or bowl.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of hot water and stir to dissolve the sugar and dashi granules.
  3. (I bought the tiny whisk in the photo at a 100 yen shop.
  4. I use it all the time.)
  5. Add the egg and mix well.
  6. Microwave for 1 minute.
  7. Take out and mix up the egg mixture.
  8. Microwave for another minute.
  9. Take it out, and cut into portions.
  10. Done!
  11. Note: Our microwave oven operates at 500 W.
