Hot Red Sauce (Hot Red Socks)
- 20 large tomatoes
- 3 -6 hot red peppers (depends on how hot peppers are)
- 2 sweet red peppers
- 6 medium onions
- 4 cups white sugar
- 4 cups white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons salt
- 1 12 teaspoons curry powder, optional see note (or to taste) (optional)
- Peel and chop tomatoes.
- Chop peppers and onions.
- Mix with tomatoes.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Cook until thickens.
- Stir often to prevent scorching.
- Pour into jars and seal.
- ** I usually leave out the curry.
- However, if the hot peppers are too mild I have added the curry powder for that added boost.
