Bacon and Winter Melon in Cream Sauce

  1. Chop the winter melon into bite-sized pieces and the bacon into 2 cm size pieces.
  2. Pan-fry the garlic and bacon without using oil.
  3. Add shimeji mushrooms, then add the winter melon.
  4. Add water and consomme into a pan.
  5. Cover the pan and simmer until the melon softens.
  6. Add milk to the pan, then season with salt, pepper, and grated cheese.
  7. Thicken with katakuriko dissolved in water to finish.
