Chocolate Sour Cream Cake
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 4 oz. (4 sq.) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 1 c. water
- 3/4 c. sour cream
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease and flour two 8 or 9-inch round cake pans.
- Line bottom of pans with waxed paper.
- Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
- In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and baking powder; blend well. Set aside.
- In large bowl, combine remaining cake ingredients; add dry ingredients.
- Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at highest speed.
- Pour batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans.
- Cool completely.
