Molasses Cookies
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup Crisco
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 12 cup hot water
- 4 12 cups flour
- Mix all ingredients and chill over night.
- If you need to chill it less, make sure it is cold all the way through.
- Roll out dough and use cookie cutters to make shapes.
- I have made it by forming balls and flattening them but you need to flatten them with a glass or plate.
- They expand very little during baking and need to be at least a 1/4 inch thick.
- You can roll out remaining dough as many times as it takes to use it all.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
- I would check them at 8 minutes if you have a hot oven.
