Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Cookies

  1. Sift together first 4 ingredients.
  2. Set aside.
  3. In mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
  4. Add egg, vanilla and milk.
  5. Add flour mixture and mix well.
  6. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake at 350F (180C) for 8 minutes.
  8. Remove cookies from oven, and top each with a marshmallow half.
  9. Return to oven for 2 minutes.
  10. Place cookies on wire racks to cool.
  11. Meanwhile, beat last 5 ingredients together.
  12. Spread on each cookie, and top with a pecan half, if desired.
