Cubanesque Sandwich

  1. In a skillet (or on a griddle), melt half the butter.
  2. Briefly saute the ham and chicken in the butter until it is warmed through; push off to the side.
  3. Melt the remaining butter in the skillet.
  4. Place one piece of the sourdough bread in the melted butter.
  5. Dot the bread with spicy brown mustard, to taste.
  6. Place the ham and chicken on the bread.
  7. Add the sliced dill pickles.
  8. Top with the remaining slice of bread.
  9. Press down on sandwich with a spatula (or a small cutting board).
  10. After the first slice of bread is nicely browned, flip the sandwich carefully.
  11. Press down again.
  12. Continue to cook until bread is to desired degree of brownness.
  13. Slice sandwich diagonally in half.
  14. Enjoy!
