Apple-Crowned Coffee Cake

  1. Heat oven to 375F.
  2. Combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, 1 tsp.
  3. cinnamon and salt in large bowl; cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Beat egg and 2/3 cup milk with whisk until blended.
  5. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened.
  6. Spread onto bottom of 9-inch square pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  7. Melt remaining butter.
  8. Toss apples with butter, nuts, brown sugar and remaining cinnamon; spoon over batter.
  9. Bake 45 to 50 min.
  10. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and remaining milk; drizzle over cake.
  12. Let stand until glaze is firm.
