Quick and Easy Macaroni and Cheese
- 1 pound Elbow Pasta (or Any Kind You Want!)
- 1/2 cups Butter
- 1/2 cups Flour
- 1- 1/2 cup Milk, Half-and-Half, Or Cream
- 2 cups Shredded Cheese (I Usually Use Cheddar), Divided
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Dried Parsley
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- Sliced Hot Dogs (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and set water to boil for the pasta.
- Melt butter over low heat in a large skillet.
- Once melted, whisk in flour slowly, stirring constantly to avoid lumps from forming.
- Once combined, continue cooking and stirring for about 5 minutes to create a roux.
- It should look similar to gravy.
- (It should be about time to add pasta to your water now.)
- Add milk and stir.
- Add about 1 1/2 cups of cheese and reserve the remaining cheese for the top of the casserole.
- Let cheese melt, stirring often.
- If your sauce looks too thin for your liking, add more cheese; if it looks too thick, add more milk.
- Stir in spices and hot dogs, if desired, and cook over low heat until pasta is done.
- Drain pasta and stir into your cheese sauce.
- Dump mac n cheese into a lightly greased 9x13 pan and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned.
- I hope you enjoy this as much as my family does!
