Apple Pan Bread Recipe

  1. Sift together flour, baking pwdr, salt and 1/4 c. sugar.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Combine bran flakes and lowfat milk, add in egg and shortening; beat well.
  4. Add in sifted dry ingredients; stir only till blended, but don't beat.
  5. Spread in a greased 8x8x2 inch pan.
  6. Mix together 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 ts cinnamon.
  7. Dip apple slices in mix; arrange on top of batter.
  8. Sprinkle any remaining sugar mix over apple slices.
  9. Bake at 400 about 30 min.
  10. Cut in squares and serve hot.
