Fluffy Meatball in a Great Sweet and Sour Sauce
- 200 grams Ground pork
- 1 half a medium onion Onion
- 2 tbsp Katakuriko
- 1 medium-sized egg Egg
- 1 tbsp Sake, water
- 1 tsp Squeezed ginger juice, sugar
- 1 dash Salt and pepper
- 6 tbsp Sugar
- 4 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Sake
- 150 ml Water
- 90 ml Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Katakuriko
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- In a bowl, mix the ground pork and ingredients with a spoon until sticky.
- Tip: If you over-mix, the meatballs will be tough.
- Add finely chopped onions and katakuriko into the bowl and stir.
- Roll into bite-sized balls.
- (They will shrink a little when fried in oil).
- Cook them all the way though over low heat at 320F/160C.
- Add the ingredients for the sweet and sour sauce (except the sesame oil) into the pot and heat.
- Add the meatballs once it thickens.
- After the meatballs have been evenly coated with the sweat and sour sauce, add sesame oil and you are done!
