French Dip Au Jus Baguette
- 3 cups Cold Water
- 1 ounce, weight Packet Dry Au Jus Mix
- 6 loaves (6 Inch Each) Baguette Rolls (I Used Poppy Seed)
- 6 slices Provolone Cheese
- 2 Tablespoons Dry Minced Onion
- 10 slices Medium Thin Fresh Deli Roast Beef Slices
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 cup of water and au jus mix and whisk well.
- Continue adding remaining 2 cups water, whisking well.
- Heat on medium high heat for 10 minutes, whisking occasionally.
- It will boil.
- While au jus is cooking, split the rolls horizontally.
- Place cheese on baguettes, with the baguettes laid out open faced on a cookie sheet.
- Bake them in the oven until cheese melts and baguettes are just a touch crispy, about 5 minutes.
- Pour almost all of the au jus into a bowl, leaving a little bit in the skillet.
- Add dry minced onion, stirring it into the remaining au jus.
- Then stir in the roast beef and simmer in au jus and onions until warm, 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add finished roast beef to cheesy baguettes and serve with your bowl of au jus for dipping.
