Summer Smoothie
- 2 tbsp (25 mL) wheat germ
- 2 peaches, peeled and pitted
- 2 cups (500 mL) buttermilk
- 1 cup (250 mL) wild or cultivated blueberries
- 2 tsp (10 mL) liquid honey
- In a dry heavy-bottomed skillet wiped clean of any lingering oil, over medium heat, toast wheat germ, shaking pan, for 4 to 6 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Transfer to blender and add peach, buttermilk, blueberries and honey; puree on high speed.
- A great start to the morning, this smoothie is redolent of hot summer days.
