Flora's Grandmas Chocolate Pie
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 tbsp cocoa
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 dash salt
- 1 prepared pie crust
- 3 eggs (save whites for a meringue or only use 2 whole eggs if your not making one)
- In a bowl combine the sugar, flour, cocoa, and the egg yolks (save egg whites for meringue)
- In a medium saucepan place in butter to melt
- When melted add the milk and vanilla to butter.
- Slowly add water to the cocoa mixture making it into a paste.
- Whip out all the lumps.
- Add enough water to make the cocoa mixture portable.
- Pour into the milk mixture and continuously stir until thickened.
- when thick pour into your baked pie shell
- Make your meringue or use whip cream if you dont like it, which me and my husband dont.
