Spam Burger

  1. Start by searing your Spam slices in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Make sure you sear both sides to get a nice crisp exterior, about four minutes per side.
  3. Once cooked, set aside.
  4. Form your ground chuck into a nice patty and make an indention in the center of your patty with your thumb.
  5. Season both sides generously with salt, and set the patty aside letting the meat come to room temperature.
  6. Heat up your grill.
  7. As you might know by now, I am a big fan of charcoal, and do not remember the last time I fired up a gas grill.
  8. When the coals are nice and not, add the burger.
  9. You know how you want your burger, so cook it the way you want.
  10. Im a big believer in a medium cooked burger (which takes about 5 minutes per side), just saying.
  11. When you flip the burger, add the sliced onion on the top of the burger, then top with the cheese.
  12. Add the pineapple slice onto the grill over the direct heat; and add the sliced English muffin over indirect heat.
  13. Cook the pineapple until you have nice grill marks on both sides; cook the English muffin until its heated to your liking.
  14. When you are ready to make your burger, take the bottom half of the English muffin and top with the two slices of Spam.
  15. Top with the burger, then add the pineapple ring to the top, adding the top half of the muffin at the end.
  16. Take a look.
  17. Its something wonderful.
