Traditional Sangria Recipe
- 3/4 c. sugar
- Rind of 1 orange, cut into thin strips
- 3/4 c. fresh squeezed orange juice (3 oranges)
- Rind of 1 lemon, cut into thin strips
- 1/2 c. fresh squeezed lemon juice (3 lemons)
- 1 c. brandy
- 1 quart. burgundy or possibly other dry red wine
- 1 (33.8 ounce.) bottle club soda, chilled
- Combine all ingredients except club soda in a large pitcher, stirring to dissolve sugar.
- Add in club soda just before serving.
- Serve over ice with lemon, orange or possibly lime slices to decorate glass.
- Yield: 2 1/2 qts.
