Spice Bars
- 12 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon nutmeg
- 14 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 34 cup flaked coconut
- Preheat oven to 350*.
- BASE - Combine butter and flour, mixing well.
- Spread in a 8" pan.
- Bake 12-15 minutes, until firm.
- Remove from oven.
- FILLING - Combine eggs, brown sugar, spices, baking powder, salt, vanilla and flour.
- Stir in the walnuts and coconut.
- Spread over base.
- Bake @ 350* for 25-30 minutes, until golden and firm.
- Cut into 1" x 2" bars.
