Holiday Fudge Recipe
- 4 c. sugar
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/3 c. coarsely minced pecans
- 1/3 c. coarsely minced candy cherries
- Combine sugar, lowfat milk, butter, and salt in large saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, dissolving sugar.
- Cook over low heat to soft ball stage, stirring frequently.
- Remove from heat, and cold at room temperature.
- Add in vanilla and almond extract; beat vigorously.
- Let fudge thickened lose it's gloss.
- Stir in pecans and cherries.
