Best Little Meatballs In Washington, D.C. Recipe
- 2 lbs. grnd meat (lean)
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 lg. onion, minced finely
- Juice of one lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 (12 ounce.) bottle chili sauce
- 1 (10 ounce.) jar grape jelly
- Combine grnd meat, egg and onion; salt and pepper to taste.
- Shape into small balls.
- In saucepan combine chili sauce, grape jelly and juice of 1 lemon; add in meatballs to pan.
- Simmer till brown.
- If you like, you may chill or possibly freeze these meatballs.
- To serve, bring to room temperature and reheat in chafing dish or possibly saucepan.
