Easter Bread Ii Recipe
- 1 lg. cake yeast
- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 4 Large eggs, slightly beaten
- 4 teaspoon vanilla or possibly anise extract
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 c. lowfat milk, scalded
- 1 c. sugar
- About 10 1/2 c. flour
- Soften yeast in water.
- Combine scalded lowfat milk, butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Cold to lukewarm.
- Stir in Large eggs (reserve 2 Tbsp.
- ), vanilla, salt and yeast mix.
- Gradually add in flour mix well after each addition.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Punch it down and let rise for another hour.
- Make loaves and let rise till double in size.
- Brush the egg over the top and bake.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 min.
