Our Family Favorite Onigiri Rice Balls
- 550 grams Hot cooked rice
- 1 packages Bonito flakes
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 large Umeboshi
- 3 Shiso leaves
- 2 Sliced (or processed) cheese
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tsp or so Sesame seeds (optional)
- Chop the umeboshi and shiso finely.
- Cut the sliced cheese into 1cm squares.
- Combine bonito flakes with the soy sauce and mix well.
- Add all the other ingredients and mix together thoroughly.
- Here's a variation coated with bonito flakes, inspired by a recipeby user "Edamame-korosuke."
- This one's good too.
