Cashew Caramel Squares

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line an 8" square pan with foil and set aside.
  3. In medium bowl combine powdered sugar and marshmallow creme.
  4. Mix well, then knead on powdered sugar-sprinkled work surface until smooth.
  5. Roll to an 8" square, wrap in plastic wrap, and set aside.
  6. In small bowl, combine cookie crumbs, 1/2 cup cashew pieces and melted butter and blend well.
  7. Press into pan and bake for 8-10 minutes until crust is set.
  8. Unwrap marshmallow creme mixture and place on hot crust; set on wire rack to cool.
  9. Combine unwrapped caramels and cream in medium bowl and microwave on medium for 4-6 minutes, stirring twice during cooking time, until blended and smooth.
  10. Add 1 cup salted cashew pieces and mix well.
  11. Spread over marshmallow layer.
  12. In small bowl, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter; melt in microwave on medium power for 2 minutes; stir to blend well.
  13. Pour over nuts.
  14. Refrigerate bars until set, then store covered.
