Southern Country Fried Steaks and Gravy

  1. season meat with garlic, pepper, and salt.
  2. Dip into flour, then eggs, then flour again.
  3. Heat lard in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry steaks on each side for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Gravy recipe.
  6. Pour off all but 2 tablespoons of lard.
  7. Mix in flour (2tbsp.)
  8. with the oil.
  9. cook over med.
  10. heat and gradually whisk in milk.
  11. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
  12. Add salt and pepper.
  13. Serve over steaks.
