Southern Country Fried Steaks and Gravy
- 4 cube steaks
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 12 teaspoons pepper
- 1 14 teaspoons salt
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup flour
- 14 cup lard
- 1 cup milk
- 12 teaspoon pepper
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons flour
- season meat with garlic, pepper, and salt.
- Dip into flour, then eggs, then flour again.
- Heat lard in large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry steaks on each side for 3-4 minutes.
- Gravy recipe.
- Pour off all but 2 tablespoons of lard.
- Mix in flour (2tbsp.)
- with the oil.
- cook over med.
- heat and gradually whisk in milk.
- Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Serve over steaks.
