Vietnamese Shrimp Lettuce Wraps Recipe

  1. Cook the rice in a rice cooker or on stove.
  2. Combine lime juice, fish sauce and sugar.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Heat a large wok or saute pan over high.
  5. Add oil, swirl to coat.
  6. Add shallots (or onion), garlic, and jalepeno to wok and stir fry for 30-60 seconds.
  7. Add shrimp and cook, stirring for 3 minutes.
  8. Stir in juice mixture.
  9. Serve with lettuce leaves, rice, and cilantro on the side.
  10. Put rice, shrimp, and cilantro in the lettuce leaf, roll, and eat!
  11. Everyone makes their own.
  12. Note: if you have kids, stir fry the Jalapeno separately from the other ingredients and serve it in a separate bowl like the Cilantro.
  13. The Jalapenos are a must have for adults, but a bit spicy for kids.
