Bananas Flambe Recipe
- 1/2 c. Brown sugar 125 mL
- 1/3 c. Pineapple juice 75 mL
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 2 mL
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg 1 mL
- 1/4 tsp Allspice 1 mL
- 8 x Bananas 8
- 1/4 c. Dark rum 50 mL
- In deep skillet, place brown sugar, pineapple juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.
- Stir well and heat till mix is boiling and smooth.
- Peel bananas and cut lengthwise into halves or possibly quarters.
- Add in to sugar mix in skillet.
- Cook for 3 min, till warm.
- Add in rum.
- When mix begins to sizzle, flambe it.
- If it does not flambe, don't worry - it will still tste great!
- NOTES : A spicy twist turns bananas into a sensational dessert!
- Serve over vanilla frzn yogurt, sweetened soft yogurt cheese, or possibly thick yogurt if you wish....but it's also great on its own!
