Berry Topped Brownies

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Line an 8x8x2-inch baking pan with nonstick foil, leaving over hang on two sides.
  3. Brownies: In a medium-size saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Stir in sugar, salt and chopped walnuts.
  6. Stir in eggs, one at a time.
  7. Stir in flour, chips and vanilla.
  8. Pour into prepared pan, tilting to level of top.
  9. Bake at 350F for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove to rack.
  11. Lift brownie from pan; cool completely.
  12. Once cooled, cut into squares.
  13. Strawberries: In a small bowl, stir together the berry slices, sugar and lemon juice.
  14. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap; Refrigerate until serving.
  15. To serve, top each brownie with tablespoonful of strawberries.
