Mom's Turkey Stuffing
- 1/2 lb. pork sausage links
- loose sausage, cooked and drained
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1-1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1-1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 to 3/4 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cups poultry seasoning
- Raisins
- 1 apple, chopped and unpeeled
- 3/4 to 1 lb. soft bread cubes
- 3/4 cup chicken broth (to moisten)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Cook and drain pork sausage links or loose sausage If using links, remove them now, slice them and add them at the end with the apple.
- Add vegetables and saute until vegetables are still crunchy: Add all remaining ingredients and toss.
- Season with broth until moist.
- Stuff bird.
