Family Style Mac and Cheese

  1. Combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
  2. Reserve.
  3. Preheat oven to 375F Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  4. Melt butter in a medium saucepan, add flour and cook over low heat, stirring 1-2 minutes.
  5. Whisk in milk and salt.
  6. Bring to a boil, lower heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Add 3 cups of cheddar cheese, stirring until melted.
  8. Stir mixture into pasta.
  9. Pour into prepared dish.
  10. Sprinkle with remaining cheese, cover with breadcrumb mixture.
  11. Bake in preheated oven 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
  12. Variations: Replace cheddar cheese with 2 cups fontina, 1 cup brie and 1 cup gorgonzola.
  13. Use any combination of cheese you like, just make sure you have 4 cups.
