Thai Chicken and Basil Stir-fry

  1. This is the kind of recipe where everything needs to be ready before you start cooking, so break out the bowls to prep everything.
  2. The majority of the ingredients can be found at the regular grocery store, but you may have to go to an Asian store for things like oyster sauce and fish sauce.
  3. The Thai basil can be substituted for sweet basil.
  4. The Thai chilies cannot be substituted.
  5. Sometimes they have them dried in the Asian aisle or head to your local Asian market.
  6. Prep the veggies and garlic.
  7. Slice the chicken.
  8. In a separate bowl mix the oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar.
  9. In a wok or large pan heat up the oil on medium.
  10. Once the oil is shimmering add the onions, garlic and chilies.
  11. Cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  12. Add the chicken, cook the chicken until done.
  13. Add the sauce and several tablespoons of water.
  14. Stir and coat the chicken with the sauce.
  15. Add the tomatoes, green beans, and basil.
  16. Cook for several minutes until the green beans are done but still crisp.
  17. Remove the garlic before serving.
  18. Serve immediately over rice.
