Asian Burger Recipe
- 1 lb lean grnd beef
- 1/4 lb hard tofu liquid removed, squeezed dry in cheesecloth and crumbled
- 1/2 med onion minced
- 4 x green onions minced
- 3 Tbsp. grnd toasted sesame seeds
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp. chopped garlic
- 1 Tbsp. coarsely-minced cilantro
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. veg. oil
- 6 x hamburger buns (or possibly 4 pita pocket breads, halved) Cilantro Green onions Hoisin sauce Favorite hamburger condiments
- Combine the patty ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Mix well.
- Divide the mix into 6 equal portions; lightly shape each portion into a patty, 3/4- to 1-inch thick.
- For pita bread, make 8 smaller patties.
- Heat a wide frying pan over medium-high heat till warm.
- Brush with the oil.
- Add in the patties and cook to your liking, 3 to 4 min on each side for medium-rare.
- Serve in buns or possibly pita bread halves with your favorite condiments.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
