Gnocchi in Tomato Sauce
- 1 packages fresh gnocchi
- 50 grams cubed pancetta
- 500 grams tomato passata
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 pinch salt and black pepper
- 1 cayenne pepper, basil, oregano and garlic powder
- 50 grams cheese, sliced
- Heat some butter and oil in a wide pan over medium high heat.
- Then, add gnocchi and fry for a minute
- Then, add pancetta and fry until pancetta is crispy and gnocchi are golden brown
- Next, add tomato passata and season (the seasoning I used is listed above).
- Turn off heat immediately when passata warms through or your gnocchi will become too soft
- Then, add sliced cheese.
- You can either broil the top or put a lid over the pan and the residual heat will melt the cheese.
- Enjoy :)
