Delicious Nikudofu (Simmered Meat and Tofu)

  1. Cut the beef and tofu into bite-sized pieces, and cut the green onion diagonally into slices.
  2. Cut the roots off the enoki mushrooms, and separate them into pieces.
  3. Add the dashi stock, sugar, sake, and soy sauce into a shallow pot such as frying pan, then bring to a boil.
  4. Spread out the beef in the pan and simmer.
  5. Place the tofu at the bottom of the pan, and put the beef on top.
  6. Cover with a lid, and simmer for 8 minutes.
  7. Add the green onion, and enoki mushrooms, and simmer for another 3-4 minutes, then done.
  8. Please sprinkle with shichimi spice if you like, and enjoy.
