Delicious Nikudofu (Simmered Meat and Tofu)
- 200 grams Thinly sliced beef (for sukiyaki)
- 1 block Grilled tofu
- 1 Green onion or scallion
- 1 small bag Enoki mushrooms
- 200 ml Japanese dashi stock
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp Sake
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- Cut the beef and tofu into bite-sized pieces, and cut the green onion diagonally into slices.
- Cut the roots off the enoki mushrooms, and separate them into pieces.
- Add the dashi stock, sugar, sake, and soy sauce into a shallow pot such as frying pan, then bring to a boil.
- Spread out the beef in the pan and simmer.
- Place the tofu at the bottom of the pan, and put the beef on top.
- Cover with a lid, and simmer for 8 minutes.
- Add the green onion, and enoki mushrooms, and simmer for another 3-4 minutes, then done.
- Please sprinkle with shichimi spice if you like, and enjoy.
