Strawberries Romanoff

  1. Set aside a few whole berries for garnish.
  2. Slice remaining berries.
  3. Add sugar and let stand 30 minutes.
  4. Drain berries, measuring juice.
  5. Add cold water to make 1 cup.
  6. Dissolve Jello in boiling water.
  7. Measure 3/4 cup of the jelly, add brandy, liqueur and 1/2 cup berry-sugar water.
  8. Chill until slightly thickened.
  9. Fold into whipped cream.
  10. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan.
  11. Chill until set, but not firm.
  12. Add remaining 1/2 cup berry liquid to remain jelly.
  13. Stir in berries.
  14. Gently spoon over the set layer.
  15. Chill until firm about 4 hours.
  16. Cut into squares and garnish with a dollop of whipped topping and a strawberry.
