So Popular! Rich Chocolate Gateau Made in a Rice Cooker
- 3 bars Chocolate bar
- 60 ml Heavy cream
- 3 Egg yolks (at room temperature)
- 3 Egg whites (chilled)
- 40 grams Rice flour (or cake flour)
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- 20 grams Granulated sugar
- 1 dash for greasing the inner pot of the cooker Vegetable oil
- 1 cut into round shape to the size of the inner pot Parchment paper
- 1 as you wish Powdered sugar
- Turn the rice cooker onto the warming setting.
- Melt the ingredients in a double broiler.
- Beat the egg yolks in a mixing bowl, adding granulated sugar, sifted rice flour and baking powder in that order.
- Mix fully using a whisk.
- Put egg whites in another bowl and beat until stiff peaks form using a whisk or an electric mixer.
- Mix the melted chocolate from Step 1 and egg yolk mixture from Step 2 together until thickened.
- Add the egg whites and fold in using a rubber spatula.
- Coat the inner pot of the rice cooker with vegetable oil and place parchment paper on the bottom.
- Pour in the batter from Step 5 and turn the cooker on.
- When it goes off, open the lid and check whether it's cooked.
- Cook again on the quick cook setting if necessary.
- Take the inside pot out and leave to cool for 20 minutes.
- Flip the pot down onto a large plate and flip over again.
- Put in the refrigerator to chill and then it's ready!
- The following is a variation:
- Cut the paper into a heart shape and let the cake follow the line using a knife.
- Keep the paper on top until you finish cutting to prevent the surface from falling apart.
- Coat with melted bitter chocolate and 1 heaping teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa in a double broiler.
- Decorate in a simple style.
