Chilli from a Can the Hearty Way
- 132 ounces vegetable juice (2 bottles of low-sodium V8)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 32 ounces tomato puree (1 can)
- 32 ounces crushed tomatoes (1 can)
- 16 ounces black beans (1 can drained)
- 16 ounces great northern beans (1 can drained)
- 16 ounces pinto beans (1 can drained)
- 32 ounces chili beans (2 cans)
- 16 ounces diced tomatoes with green chilies (1 can)
- 16 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Cook ground meats and garlic in a skillet.
- Drain excess fat/juices.
- In a large crock pot or slow cooker add all ingredients and simmer for one hour stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with shredded cheese and thin slices of jalapeno peppers.
- Serve with toasted bread or crackers.
