Easy Clam Chowder

  1. Drain clams, reserving liquid.
  2. Cook and stir bacon in large saucepan on medium heat until crisp.
  3. Remove bacon from pan with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels.
  4. Add potatoes, onions and bell peppers to bacon drippings in pan; cook 4 to 5 min.
  5. or until crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
  6. Add bay leaf and reserved clam liquid; stir.
  7. Bring to boil, stirring frequently.
  8. Cover; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min.
  9. Remove and discard bay leaf.
  10. Add milk, white pepper, clams and bacon; mix well.
  11. Cook, uncovered, 3 to 5 min.
  12. or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  13. (Do not let soup come to boil.)
