Easy with a Pressure Cooker Simmered Pork
- 300 grams Pork loin (block)
- 2 tbsp Mirin
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 100 ml Sake
- 4 tbsp Soy sauce
- 50 ml Water
- 1 knob Ginger
- 1 Japanese leek (the green part)
- Pour boiling water over the pork block.
- Rinse in cold water to cool.
- Slice the ginger unpeeled.
- Add the pork and all ingredients into the pressure cooker.
- Cook over high heat until the pressure drops.
- Turn the heat to medium low, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Steam for 10-15 minutes.
- Tilt the weight to make sure the steam doesn't escape.
- Remove the lid.
- Simmer to reduce the sauce for 5 minutes as you roll the meat around.
- Slice the meat and serve.
- The flavor will really soak in if you set it aside overnight.
- If you also cook boiled eggs in step 3, they will turn into delicious simmered eggs!
